You Don't Have To Carry it ALL.

Our Mission
The purpose of the Removing The Cape program is to help Women of Color (WOC) identify, understand, acknowledge, and heal from compound, complex, and ensuing trauma to help them break the cycle of generational and inherited family trauma, and develop healthier emotional and mental health, families and communities.
"You alone are enough. You have nothing to prove to anybody."
Maya Angelou
Our Program
Removing the Cape provides bi-weekly support groups in a safe space for women through education, resources and supportive services that will enable women to unapologetically practice self-compassion, refocus, and build supportive sisterhood with women who have similar life experiences all while gaining skills to help manage life stressors.
The information and education provided will help women shatter the misinformation that they’ve received, and help break generational cycles that prevent them from seeking help. They will be exposed to coping skills that will enable them to gain emotional strength that will help them heal from trauma.
These groups will focus on the following topics:
LIVING UNAPLOGETICALLY
Our program provides a safe space to explore, reflect, express yourself without fear of judgement, heal from past hurt and trauma and gain the confidence you need to live your best life, unapologetically.
BUILDING SISTERHOOD
We believe in the power of sisterhood and community. Our program is designed to cultivate an environment of warmth and trust in order to encouraging growth, healing and acceptance.
BREAKING GENERATIONAL CYCLES
Trauma can be passed down, and our goal is to provide you with the tools and support needed to start the healing process by identifying, processing and resolving this trauma in order to create a healthier and more fulfilling life.
PRACTICING SELF-COMPASSION
We aim to help you cultivate a sense of self-compassion, by being kind and gentle to yourself, recognizing and accepting your emotions, as well as past mistakes in order to forgive and move forward.
SHATTERING MISINFORMATION
Shedding light on mental health myths and misinformation can help to create a safe and supportive environment while providing the tools needed to set and achieve goals for the future.
DEVELOPING COPING SKILLS
Developing coping skills allows you to discover and develop your inner strength, empowering you with the ability to identify and cultivate your strengths for continued growth moving forward.
